We all go on vacations to relax. Yet the fact is vacationing, like life, can be complicated. All of a sudden we need to deal with endless reservations, airport hassles, jet lag, and other annoyances.
It’s all about balance. On one hand, we are looking forward to immersing ourselves in the destination, becoming almost a part of the location we find ourselves in, yet part of the adventure is finding our way in a foreign land.

One of the key things to consider is to actually NOT over plan or at least to plan free time. Feeling tired is a normal part of traveling and as we try hard to see everything, our vacation can become as stressful as work.
We should also attempt to minimize turning on technology or at least limit how much time we spend on our devices. Getting an email from our boss or sharing whatever is not going to help us relax. On the contrary, it may negatively colour our entire trip. Plan scheduled times to post pictures on Instagram and plan ahead to schedule hostels or hotels. This will make life easier and leave us time to enjoy our new surroundings?
Finally, don’t forget to practise your TM. Not only does regular Transcendental Meditation practice increase energy, improve focus, and help us sleep sounder every night, it also increases our endurance.
